We will pick you up from your hotel (city center hotels), then you will meet with your group and guide at meeting point. We will visit Hippodrome, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia Mosque and Grand Covered Bazaar. End of the tour we will drop you off to your hotel.
*Hippodrome – The center of sport activites in Constantinople, capital of the Byzantine empire, today named Sultanahmet Meydani, with its four monuments;The German Fountain of Wilhelm II, Egyptian Obelisk, Serpentine Column (Spiral Column).
*Blue Mosque (Sultanahmet Mosque) – Built by the architect Mimar Sedefkar Mehmet aga. Until 19th century was the traditional point for the pilgrimage to Mecca(on Friday visit is not allowed because of Friday prayers).
*Hagia Sophia Mosque –Hagia Sophia is a former church and museum and declared as one of the world’s greatest architectural works and accepted as the 8th wonder of the world. Built as a church in 325, Hagia Sophia was rebuilt in 537 and was converted into a mosque by Fatih Sultan Mehmet after the conquest of Istanbul in 1453.
Serving as a museum since 1935, a decree on 10th of July 2020 to formally declare the Hagia Sophia as a mosque, after Turkey’s administrative court annulled a 1934-dated decision that paved the way for the use of Hagia Sophia as a museum.
*Grand Covered Bazaar – The most attractive shopping centre in the world, with nearly 4000 shops, selling antique, jewellery, gold, carpets, leather wear and souvenirs (Grand Bazaar is closed on Sunday).
